How To Find Small Ways To Go Green, Conserve Energy And Save Our Environment ?

There has been so much talk going on about how we should be responsible citizens by saving our environment and keeping global warming under control. Also, talks about utilizing green energy has also been circulating and it still is. So at such a time, it is our duty to do whatever we can to save our environment. We must learn to be sustainable and we should conserve energy in whatever little ways that we can in order to do our bit for the betterment of the environment because little drops of water together can make a mighty ocean!

The first thing that we can do in this regard is to conserve electricity. This means that we should not use gadgets like heated styling tools for our hair, dish washers, etc unnecessarily. So why should we utilize the washing machine to dry our laundry when we can easily dry them in the sun? We can also incorporate small efforts like letting our hair air dry instead of using the hair dryer.

We can also go green by saving water as this means shorter shower time and closing the tap when we are brushing our teeth. We should use water only when it is necessary. We can also collect rain water during rainy seasons for flushing the toilet. Also, one can use the sink to wash small laundry items by hand instead of using the washing machine for such petty purposes.

Saving natural gas is also important, so it is better to use a wood stove in order to heat up our homes since it utilizes lesser energy. These wood stoves are usually kept in the basement of the house. Using energy saving light bulbs can also be a huge contribution towards the welfare of the environment. We must also be sure to turn off all the lights and fans when not in use. Also, using natural lighting from the sun during the day through solar panels to light our homes is a good idea for conserving electricity. This way, we will not only be able to help the environment but we will also be able to cut down our electricity bills!

Another thing that we can do on our part is to recycle. You must have heard of the phrase ‘reduce, reuse and recycle’, now is the time to put this phrase into practice. We must try not to overload the landfills and instead recycle whatever we can. Also, try using paperless or email billing, this saves trees and also reduces the production of waste on earth. We should also try to use carpool or cycles for travelling purposes. For shorter distances, it is better to go on foot instead of using cars and motorbikes, this way you will get in better shape too!
