As you know almost every electrical device can be converted into the solar-powered one. The solar panel that is fixed on the device can be charged with the solar energy that will be kept even at night and thus your device will work even in the darkness.

It is funny and interesting to create the solar-powered toy car. You can use that unusual toy as an interesting teaching experiment and create it together with your child. Besides it will be a great way to entertain the students and grab their attention.

To make the body platform for the toy car you should cut the piece of wood which would be a lighter than a plastic bottle. That piece must be of a flat shape. Don’t use the foam board for that purpose – only the wood one – as it will be too light for the car.

After that you have to cut 2 pieces of the foam board. They must be as wide as the wood platform and about 2 inches in length. Those 2 foam blocks must be fixed at 2 sides of the platform – the front and the back. You should glue the foam pieces. Then with the help of the ruler you must make 2 dots on the front platform and 2 dots on the back. In general you will have 4 dots.

Then your aim is to screw the dots. The screwed dots are supposed for the axels, so they must be wide enough to let the axels in, but at the same time they need not be too wide so as to keep the axel firm.

The axels for the toy car must be made of dowel rods. You should take the measures to create the axel of the proper size. Remember that the axel must be put into the foam board and then the wheels will be fixed on it. So its size must suit the dots in the foam board and the wheels of the future car.

The next step is to fix the axel in the foam board and to match 4 wheels to it. After doing it, you have to put the motor of the car on the wooden platform and to glue it. Please, find the best location of the motor and then fix it well. At last you have to connect the motor of the car and the solar panel with wires. You can get the solar panel in the nearest shop or order it through the Internet. After the fixing solar panel you must put the toy car in the sunny area to get the panel charged. In 8 hours you can use your car.
