Renewable & Non Renewable Resources For Kids

Everything in life requires energy to function, whether it is a non-living thing or a living thing. For instance the school bus requires energy in order to pick and drop kids. Likewise the school building also requires energy in order to cool down or heat up the classrooms. In fact, even the cell phones that are being used by the children these days to keep in touch with their friends and families require electric energy to function.

As adults, most of us have basic information about what energy is and the many categories of energy, but kids need to be educated on the different types of energy sources and energy in general in order to make them aware and be responsible when it comes to the usage of energy. Generally speaking, there are two kinds of sources of energy namely non-renewable sources of energy (example – coal, petroleum, fossil fuels, etc) and renewable sources of energy (example – solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, etc).
